Newest Spudder of this Type to be Built in Illinois Basin in 24 Years
Rig 19 is the first totally new workover rig built in the Illinois Basin in 24 years. The rig was engineered and built by a combination of two companies, PJ Repair Service, Inc. and Gemtar, Inc, both of Salem, Illinois. It is patterned after the Walker-Neer C-25A with a depth rating of 6000’ with 2 7/8” tubing.
No other company in the United States has been building this style of rig, and Mitchell Drilling is very excited to be introducing Rig 19 to the Illinois Basin in the spring of 2009. This addition brings our fleet of workover rigs to six.
